ESTATE SALE – STUNNING GENUINE SCOTT #122 1869 CARMINE & BLACK – PICTORIAL ISSUE CLEAR & WELL DEFINED G-GRILL – EXCEPTIONAL CENTERING FOR THIS ISSUE POSTALLY USED WITH A CONTEMPORARY LIGHT CANCEL. PRINTED BY THE NATIONAL BANK NOTE CO. On HARD WHITE PAPER WE NOTE A TINY NATURAL PAPER INCLUSION – VISIBLE ON REAR MENTIONED FOR COMPLETE VISIBILITY – VALUE PRICED ACCORDINGLY. ANOTHER SELECT STAMP FROM THE DELAND ESTATE. AN OUTSTANDING OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE THIS VERY NICE STAMP. We are disposing of an Estate from a long-time collector. Whenever possible, we try to tell a little about the Collector. This collection belonged to John’s Grandfather Stanley who passed away in 1954 at age 96. The math says Stanley was born prior to Abe Lincoln’s election as President. Stanley’s collection remained untouched for decades at their home until it was eventually placed in John’s Safe Deposit Box in the late 1980’s. The most recent stamp in the collection is 1948. It remained in the same Bank Vault until the Bank Branch closed in 2018. Literally, this collection sat untouched for the past 60+ years. Based on our work with this collection, we can offer 3 important observation: First , Stanley sought out stamps with excellent centering. Second , we found some of the pencil notes (we assume was the price paid as long ago as the early 1900’s) on the back of a few stamps which is absolutely fascinating. Third , some of the stamps were in very early (first generation) black hingeless mounts which were very time consuming for us. In some cases we need to soak the stamp to free in from the mount. In these cases with noted in the listing that the stamp is without gum. We have posted the exact scan of the front and back of the actual stamp. Of course, we stand behind every stamp that we sell. The overwhelming majority of our listings sell very quickly. We began listing this great collection in May of 2019 and it will likely take us many months to carefully evaluate each stamp and complete the listing process. As you may have seen from our listings, we sell larger philatelic and numismatic holdings in conjunction with various Estate Trustees. Actual photos are shown with this listing. We enjoy an excellent reputation and we pride ourselves in a very large percentage of repeat buyers for our Estate Collections. The accuracy of our listings is of paramount importance to us and to you. If you see any errors in our listing, please send us a message and we will quickly correct any error. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions whatsoever. (INTERNAL USE: Vault/Bin Location: Deland Estate #3/C08).
