WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT IT: an exceptional early example of a Navajo sterling silver hair ornament comb with incredibly beautiful hand stamp work which also includes three beautiful natural Number 8 mine turquoise stones and applied large round raindrops. All the stamp work is fabulous as is the turquoise, and the piece dates to well before mid-century; very very early century or even prior. I’ve never seen any like it! It is sterling silver, and with the stamp work and the three number 8 mine turquoise stones it’s surely unique and museum worthy. It’s an extraordinary find, very rare and beautiful. CONDITION: excellent vintage wearable and collectible. MEASUREMENTS: the center turquoise stone measures 1/2″ x 1/4″ entire comb is 1-5/8″ x 2-7/8″ weight 23.35grams not marked for metal content which is usual for those times, but it’s sterling silver. 925 not signed by the artist which is usual for those times; it’s a uniquely beautiful Navajo work of art.
