1860s Confederate States turned cover with military address y4255
Interesting Confederate states turned and reused cover, with two copies of a 10 cent general issue. Neither has a distinct town marking – the outer use is just a partial smudge cancel (addressed to Franklin County VA); the inside use is to a William Bellowe, Co. 34th VA Regt, Wises Brigade, at Petersburg VA. Small pinhole or insect hole in address; interesting item worthy of further research and attention. Looks like it may have been sent by a wife to her husband in the military and mailed back to her by him. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
