This traditionally styled Belt Buckle Set was designed and constructed by Suzie James, a Navajo artist in the style of the old classic concho belts. Susie is from Gallup and started producing jewelry in the 1990’s. It is in her magical stamped boxes that you can really enjoy her talent with her stamp set! There is lots of deep stamp work and lots of tarnish and patina! As you can see from the pictures, it is in very good condition and shows only light signs of wear. It is Hallmarked, as you can see in the pictures. Susie uses “SUZIE JAMES” as her mark. It is also marked “Sterling”. A I’ve traded a number of these sets as they are versatile, attractive, and popular. If you are charmed by this, then congratulations you may come to a happy end to your search! New message to: kl57. Good morning, First, thank you for the kind words. I’m glad you asked me because it need a bit of explanation. The key is to have a professional leather worker or shoe repair person that can make custom belts do the work. It is easy, as you suggest to change the Conchos onto another belt. They come off with a little coaxing as they slide off and onto a different belt. To do it right, the new belt should be the specific thickness and width to work with the slightly bendable copper backing straps. That does not look right, and often the conchos will shift on the belt. I don’t know where you live, but I bet you must have somebody locally that would do this for you. A number of my customers over the years have chosen this route. BTW, most of the concho belts that I trade and the one that I have set up have black leather. It just seems to be the most versitile and popular color. The most important thing is getting the right Conchos, the belt is relatively incidental in my opinion. Thanks for stopping by and asking. Let me know if this made sense and if you have any other questions. New message from: kl57. Hello Such lovely offerings on your site! I read in the description of this belt that the leather is black. Is putting the conchos onto a different leather belt something which can be done fairly easily? Thank you for reading this! In the United States. I thank You and look forward to sharing a good experience!
