Bigjake R79a, $1.60 Foreign Exchange imperforate, 1st Issue Revenue
This stamp has four acceptable margins for an imperf. I have examined it under digital microscopy and found no evidence of trimming. The CDS is partially legible and reads –EYER and Co. My best guess on the date is Sep. 19, 1862 which makes it very early. The year portion on the date appears to be reversed. The stamp is very sound except for the nicked area on the left margin. CDS – Circular Date Stamp CC – Cut Cancel CV – Catalog Value CZ – Canal Zone. H – Hinged M – Mint F – Fine VF – Very Fine. LH – Lightly Hinged MNH – Mint Never Hinged NH – Never Hinged NGAI – No Gum As Issued. VLH – Very Lightly Hinged OG – Original Gum XF – Extra Fine DLWM – Double Line Water Mark. SF – Space Filler HR – Hinge Remnant UWM – Unwatermarked SLWM – Single Line Water Mark. This item is in the category “Stamps\United States\Back of Book\Revenues”.
